Life Happens. So Does Death.

Yesterday when I was writing my post, I wanted to philosophize more and share my thoughts on a newsletter I'd opened. Simultaneously, I wanted it to be a short and sweet post because I don't have much to share accomplishment-wise from the past week, and I knew yesterday was going to be packed. I had just enough time in the morning to write, and then the afternoon before my partner got off at 15:00 was dedicated to other tasks.

Unfortunately, I experienced a classic case of Blank Page Syndrome, and though I was able to find my groove later in the evening when I returned to the post, I realized the topic I'd chosen was best left for another day when I can really chew on the subject and write a longer blog around it.

So, for the sake of brevity, I'll summarize events for this week's post:

  • My partner took Friday off for his birthday, making it a 3-day weekend, during which we had plans to celebrate with some friends.

  • His grandmother died on Saturday.

  • The funeral was Tuesday.

  • This means that Thursday and Monday were my only 2 working days, and I really should have mentioned last week that I wouldn't be posting a blog this week. Oops.

  • Thursday I just barely managed to work out in the morning before my mind and body shut down on me--no idea what was going on with me last week in that regard--and Monday I spent the morning troubleshooting some VST issues with Dorico 5 and composing, dedicating the afternoon to working out.

Only now that I look back do I realize that this was not a week to work toward accomplishing anything significant, as much as I would love to be done with Teyr'loch Delter Pach and moving on with the story. It was a time to take a step back and recover, because life doesn't care that you're in the middle of the quarter.

I'll postulate more on my views toward death and what it means to "give every day your 100%," but for now, I'm going to give my mind a break and go play some Animal Crossing New Horizons. Today's my partner's day off, after all.

Other Notable Accomplishments:

  • C25K Week 5 Days 2 & 3. Worst pace to date on both days, but from what I've found, bulking can do that to running times.

Questions for Contemplation & Discussion:

  • Are you the sort of person who fights against life whenever it "disrupts" your schedule, or do you let the cards fall how they will and take it in stride?
