Sunlight

The imitation sun rises daily at 6:30, accompanied by humming wind chimes meant to stir you from slumber.
Yet your eyes fluttered open sixty minutes before, when the artificial dawn first lifted night's curtain.
You sigh that quintessential sigh of someone waking into lethargy
for the fifth, sixth, eighth consecutive day.
Turn away from the sunrise with its looming orange glow instead of reaching over
to press the button that would see your room darken again.
Fifty-four minutes in, the light interposes as fitful sleep's intercessory,
and you rise, though only halfway
before flopping back onto your pillow, rolling onto your face, and groaning with the inability to broker
an agreement between your motivation screaming, "Let's go!" whilst mind and body wave, "Auf wiedersehen,"
to your plans. There's a crick in your neck and a tickle in your nose, no doubt caused by Maine Coon allergies.
Entangled in the bedsheet both physically and spiritually, you lay
staring at the ceiling through burning eyes and mope there,
questioning for the tenth and hundredth time from where the exhaustion stems when
the only habit you changed, perhaps the cause of your imbalanced synergy,
is foregoing natural sunlight to avoid the beating heat and humidity, opting to stay
indoors unless absolutely necessary. Tanked to empty, choking on smoke ere
you noticed your sputtering, stuttering, half-finished thoughts or your out-of-body sluggishness, you resort to D3 supplements.
Like the imitation sun rising daily at 6:30, you feel that gradual realignment with synchronicity,
but it's going to take time and a willingness to say, "Sorry alarm, but I rise with the sun today."
Summary of Notable Accomplishments:
It's been a rough week energy-wise, and I've been lucky to complete the bare minimum each day.
I only transcribed one Session 0 part, though admittedly it was ~70 minutes
Completed the usual campaign session transcribing, which was longer this week, closer to 6 or 7 hours, so that was a bit of a tradeoff
Socializing this past week was a chore, and I almost forewent any of it in favor of hermitting
I did accomplish some meal prepping! Made more breakfast burritos and sweet potatoes
Took a day to organize finances, which was oddly energizing. Something about puzzling out cold hard numbers. Go figure.
Completed a couple Built With Science workouts (Upper A + Lower Foundation; Quads + Core)
Did some regular Pilates to keep my body moving when I was too exhausted to lift weights
A friend of mine has begun writing poetry again recently, and that's encouraged me to give it another whirl. You can check out his writing here.
