You wouldn't believe it by just looking at the current layout of the site, would you? :')

"Why, it's been a year, and she hasn't even filled out the 'About' section!" you might even say.

Yeeeeaaaaah, it's a wawful that kinda got away from me, one of those pesky little tasks I look at and think, 'Eh, I'll get to it later.' Ahh, procrastination, it happens to the best of us.

It doesn't help that I tend to underestimate the scope of my projects, especially when I begin a new productivity journal, which asks you to list anywhere from 1-3 major "Outcome Goals." Much of the time my one outcome goal can actually be separated into 2 or even 3.

For example, when I was still trying to catch up on everything I'm doing for "Skies Over Aefala," I had journals and correspondence to catch up on, which could have been an outcome goal all on its own; a backlog of notes I still haven't organized, which could have been goal # 2; inspiration to write a performance for goal # 3; and other small tidbits here and there that could be done in an afternoon or day such as transcribing. That list isn't even taking into account everything else I want to do for the story to make it a unique experience for anyone who someday immerses themselves in it, which includes its own subset of projects in order to learn the skills necessary for what I want to achieve.

I have to give those journals credit, however, because there is a clear start and end to them, and it's shorter than the yearly planner I'm using now, even if the correlation between their time frame and the time it takes me to complete these projects aligns poorly. With the yearly planner I'm using, one day elides into the next week into the next month, blurring the line between a clear start and finish. I'm even keeping track of each quarter, and yet I still feel as though everything has been unraveling around me. It's been irritatingly fascinating to experience.

My partner is on vacation next week, which will be a good opportunity for me to take a step back and reevaluate my priorities, break down what remains of my current creative projects and how much longer it'll take to complete them, lay out what projects I want to pursue afterward and break those down multiple times to see what bite-sized chunks I can complete in a timely manner. That said, no post next week because of said vacation.

Hopefully within the next three years I'll have more than just blogs to show for the work I've actually been doing behind the scenes. For those of you who have stuck with me thus far, I thank you, especially if you've reached out to me with some answers to my weekly questions. The discussions are always enjoyable.

Other Notable Accomplishments:

  • Sheepish to admit it, but the past week was one of those weeks, a dumpster fire amidst a train wreck, one of those weeks where organizing your desk feels like a victory and not even the power of habit can see you through all of your personal obligations. It's actually because of this past week, however, I've decided I need to sit and carefully chew on what matters most currently, so at least it led to something worthwhile.

Questions for Contemplation & Discussion:

  • If you're like me and no longer in school, what is it you miss most from those days? For me in regards to college, I miss the class structure. One class starts at this time, ends at this time, then you go to the next class. Different classes were on different days, which helped break up what could have been monotony. I underappreciated how clear cut the schedule was. I've tried in the past to recreate a sort of "class schedule" for my own pursuits, but I can't imitate the feeling of it, and it falls flat rather quickly.
